VXDIAG VCX SE BMW ISTA-P "A Fault Occurred" Problem Solution

After connect VXDIAG VCX SE BMW interface with BMW E38 year 1999 and try to program module with ISTA-P software, ISTA-P can read VIN and find proper module, but fail to program.  ISTA/P gave error "A fault occurred on execution of the measure"
94201 Technical service initialization failed
10007 (CIP)- Fault during initialization of EDIABAS
ISTA-D software works fine.
Voltage: 124V
Term 15: 8 volt
Term 30: 14 volt

Possible reason:
1999 year is too old for VCX SE BMW.
VXDIAG  supports BMW programming from year 2004 to 2019. 

3 Tips to use VXDIAG Subaru Multi Tool SSM3 Scanner

My vxdiag Subaru VCI is an alternative to expensive dealer tools. 
It works with SSM3. Exactly what I needed being a weekend Subaru mechanic. I haven't used it with SSM4 yet. This will also work with other manufacturers as long as you have their specific program installed. Here are some tips to use the scanner:
1.) After connection to the PC you need to restart the VXDiag at least once and keep hitting the "reconnect" button multiple times before the VX Manager will recognize the device is plugged in.
2.) The SSM3 software requires you to roll back your computer's date. It worked fine without the date change until about a month ago when it gave me an error message that SSM4 required activation before SSM3 could be launched. I reinstalled the software, reformatted my computer, and reinstalled the patch provided with no luck. I was about to pack it up and send it back when I decided to roll back my computer date to last year, worked like a charm. That being said, unless VX comes out with an update, don't use this on your everyday laptop, especially with internet because your browser needs an accurate date to function. I have a dedicated Panasonic Toughbook in my shop that I use for this, so not a big deal.
3.)  You can program key fobs on 05+ Subarus, but cannot program new keys to the immobilizer without a Subaru specific code, which requires internet, a dealer code, and an active STIS subscription to obtain. Don't expect to program a new key with this, or any other solution that promises to program Subaru keys on 05+ without dealer intervention.
Overall, if you work on Subaru's a lot or specialize in Subaru repair at your shop, this is the best tool without having to spend thousands on a dealer solution. With the issues I experienced above, I will be reaching out to the manufacturer for guidance and will update accordingly.

GM SPS Programming not Show VXDIAG in Selection Solution

After installation there is a little problem, communication tool field was empty, but this help:
ust run the file EnableIEHostingx86.reg for 32bit systems or EnableIEHostingx64.reg for 64 bit system. The files can be found in the folder INSTALL->Utils.
Just run these file as administrator and everything works fine now!) .

Does VXDIAG VCX Nano Techstream have expiry date for license?

Question:
Does your VXDIAG VCX Nano have expiry date for license? If you didn't activate it yourself then may have pre-activated it (who knows when) with only a few years left on license. You can check license status with VX Manager or advance PC date several years forward and see if Techstream complains about VIM license being expired. I'm interested in getting one without time limitation.

Answer:
Yes, it does come with a licence. The licence on my VCX Nano (which I've had for a couple of years) expires on the last day of 2020. You are allowed to renew license for FREE by providing your order number and device serial number in year 2020.
It's still good value considering the many benefits over a cheap Chinese clone.
Allscanner, the manufacturers, are very helpful and they may be willing to update the licence after expiry, it's probably only a firmware update.

VCX Nano is nice and smooth and even support passthrough for Generic OBD to other vehicles.

Does VXDIAG VCX NANO GM support Saab

Question:

I recently bought a 08 saab 93. My goals are add a spare key, program a headunit and onstar for Bluetooth. So I use to have a Saturn ion redline. I was able to program my headunit with VXDIAG VCX NANO for GM. So with Saab i'm not lucky. While installing software and drivers for VXDIAG VCX, I found J2534 tool in my temp folder.

The general thinking as to why it is not working is the inability to correctly communicate over the GMLAN (CAN bus) which is on pin 1 of the OBD2 connector.

 

 

 

 

Answer:

 

The VCX Nano does have all the proper pins and all the correct internal hardware to potentially work correctly. The issue appears to be software and drivers. The Mongoose software settings allows you to pick what bus you want to communicate over. The VCX has no similar settings. The VCX has had some success in SPS mode with the 9-3 via GlobalTIS iirc but that is not of much help really.

The vxdiag engineer failed to work on Saabs with tech2win either.

I have VCX Nano GM about week. I`m using 9.250 bin. My Tech2WIN is working with Win 7 64 bit.

I have only updated firmware after first run. It`s 1.2.2.9 (vcx.bin). VCXSDK is 1.4.1.0.

I can do in my 9-5 2006:
- turn ON SID2 (trip computer, alarm, speed warning etc): function: again SID programming in 6 steps. This was the main reason why I bought VCX! 
- after that I locked my radio. Two days later I found out that I need to put VIN in SID. Radio started to work again during this VIN installation. I was sooo happy after radio turned on 
- read all DTC and delete them
- configure/activate/change options in DICE, AC, SID,ECU...
- read all parameters, signals, read Trionic, start adaptations in AT, check fans etc..I can not:
- read ABS (need to check again!)
- marry radio
- proper finish SID programming with "OK" message. I need to turn off Tech2WIN after interface stop flashing with blue led.

User 2:

9-5 2002 Saab Tech2Win works after first connecting.

I married CD changer and did many other things, including integration with SPS, Globaltis and WIS!

I also connect my Saab through the Global TIS Security Access.

 

 

 

 

Note: 

To diagnose Saab, better use GM Tech2 or Mangoose pro for gm.

Don't try to modify VCX NANO hardware. You are at your risk.

 

VXDIAG BMW E-sys Coding Software not Working Solution

Problem:
I've installed BMW software to work with vxdiag multi tool for BMW. Strange because my ISTA-D works fine, but E-sys not working.


Solution:
To do BMW F-series coding or programming with vxdiag vcx, you should turn on the DoIP switch on vx manager.
Open VCXNet DoIP manager on desktop
Connect VCX
Then press DoIP ON to turn on DoIP switch
DoIP automatically assign IP
Now E-sys 3.27.1 coding software is ready to use.

Feedback 1: 
You need the new SPS Vehicle Programming (Basic) subscription. You can buy a subscription from acdelco will do just as fine, and it's 40USD for 2 years. Be sure to select Opel/Vauxhall at the top and double-check immediately before paying.

I just installed my defeat plug after my old sensor had failed, then used the VCX Nano and SPS to reprogram the HPCM2 in order to clear the SHVCS code.
Did a daily erase of the POAA6/P1fff messages until the defeat plug arrived, installed WOT Defeat Plug, programmed HPCM2 with a VCX Nano via the ACDelco TDS website (2 day subscription) then hit the Erase Faults button after programming.
Done ... no messages ... charging Normal.
For those more technically inclined or without dealer support, the VCX Nano needs firmware updates via VXDIAG's VCX Manager to be used as a J2534 pass-through programmer. Windows needs a Java update and the TDS website installs software before you get started. After that ... it's a 10 minute job!


Feedback 2:
Yes, with a standard (non-enhanced) tis2web account you can use SPS to reprogram the HPCM2 module and clear the locked fault code.
I used a VXDIAG VCX Nano dongle, so with the cost of that, joining fee for the GM portal, plus 2x 1-hour subscriptions (I didn't realise the first hour I bought would start immediately - I didn't have the dongle at that point) cost me 170€ and saved me a 6-hour round trip plus probably a hotel for the night plus whatever the main dealer charged for the reprogram.  My Ampera is charging once more.

In conclusion:
Both tester supports latest DoIP Porsche models.
Both tester perform same functions.
VXDIAG VCX Plus is possible to add other car brand software to the unit. OEM tester does not.

VXDIAG BMW Passthru ISTA Not Working Properly Solution

Software: original BMW diagnostic software ISTA+ Passthru version
Hardware: VXDIAG VCX SE for BMW
Problem: ista+ passthru failed to communicate with vcx se interface.
Displayed 3 errors:
1)  The connection to one of the required databases for the language en-GB could not be established.
Language switched to the default en-GB.
2) ISTA is no longer working properly.
3) The Vehicle Could not be identified successfully. Check vehicle interface and "PAD active"

Possible reason:
You have installed the BMW PassThru driver instead of  VXDIAG vx manager driver.

VXDIAGSHOP solution:

Original Ford IDS V114.05 tested OK with VXDIAG Full on Windows 10

New customer test report:
I had the vxdiag with full brands. The Ford IDS software in 2TB HDD is still V113. Today I tried to load the original IDS 114.05 software with the vxdiag unit.
Surprisingly, it works no issue. Test on Windows 10 laptop, same steps as v113. native install without VMware.  But make sure update the vx manager driver to latest version (1.6.4.0).




Note: The current default Ford IDS software in HDD has not yet been updated to V114.

VXDIAG Ford V114.01 latest review:
Ordered the VCX NANO (sp239-w) Wi-Fi for my 2016 Ford Focus 1.5l 182hp and 2007 Ford Fiesta 1.4l 16v. It came within two weeks. It came with IDS 114 cd's for Ford and Mazda.
Followed the provided instructions to install the Ford IDS 114 software. This VCX Nano works perfect with IDS 114. 

It reads all modules of the 2016 Focus and 2007 Fiesta. I could change the options that are editable on both cars. I did not dare to update the software of the modules of my Focus, but i did a online update of the GEM module of my Fiesta as the PCM and ABS were already to the latest version.
This adapter works also with Forscan.
Did not test the WiFi option of the adapter.
To activativate online programing, you have to run the programing patch first otherwise you will be only able to program with files saved locally and not directly from Ford / Motorcraft servers.
All in all happy with the purchase, it works as advertised as long as you get the software installation right.
