Problem:
Got the Techstream 18.00.008 software installed and vxdiag vcx nano Toyota interface connected to vehicle, but cannot find 2021 Tacoma (US model) option. Any idea?
Solution:
Techstream since version 15.00.026 does have Tacoma 2021 option.
Select the America region.
Then select the vehicle model.
Problem:
There is a problem with VXDIAG VCX NANO Toyote techstream v18 software and 2015 Toyota Avalon. The VCX will connect withthe vehicle, diagnose and test CAN BUS communication, but
cannot read live data.
Error “Select system is not responding or not available.”
Solution:
Ensure the correct vehicle model manufactured region is selected.
Only by selecting the correct region in the software will the live data be displayed.
Problem:
VXDIAG VCX NANO Toyota WiFi scanner, the vx manager cannot detect the VCI (No device), the computer cannot recognize the WiFi, the red light is on, and the blue light is flashing. How to fix it?
Solution:
If your VCX SE, VCX NANO, VCX DoIP devices have the same issue, it indicates a hardware failure and requires factory repair.

Problem:
Received the vxdiag vcx nano Toyota cable and set up Techstream 18.00.008 software on Win10 laptop. Tried to program a spare smart key on a 2022 Lexus NX350h. Techstream software asks for a pass-code.
Here is the clue.
The newer Toyota’s have an extra security component even adding keys diagnostically will be a problem unless you have the special password.
These rolling code changes every time you plug in. You can buy code online directly or have other tools to bypass the pin code.
Best bet is Techstream subscription with NASTF.
It’s the $65 security professional script. If you have a yearly subscription there is no cost. The yearly subscription costs $1,295.
You can purchase a 2 day subscription at a cost of 65 dollars. Then you have to wait for email ( up to half hours) then you can re-log back in to site and get 1 free key code. It’s much quicker to just pull out the drivers door lock cylinder and get the key code. It’s stamped right on it!
If bypass the seed code, there is no option for all keys lost or generate smart key, only add key, then add the key.
Once you have reset immo, you go back and add key.
Problem:
One of our customers bought the vxdiag vcx nano Toyota scanner when he tried to crack Techstream in Win10, he managed to run the patch – Toyota Launcher.exe– as an Admin, it runs and see that Toyota picture, but then nothing happened.
When opened Techstream and it said I had 3 days until he had to introduce the activation key.
What is the solution?
Solved:
Set-up Techstream as usual until it asks you for the Serial Key AND then always open Techstream using Toyota Launcher.exe
The long one in case you didn’t get it:
First of all, Go to Control Panel > System and Security > Windows Defender Firewall > Turn Windows Defender Firewall On and Off (left side menu) AND turned everything off. The Toyota Launcher.exe will be identified as a trojan otherwise and you won’t be able to run it.
Techstream installed – fresh install, copied Toyota Launcher.exe in the Bin folder for Techstream (see tutorial) , VX Manager installed and updated VXDiag dongle to date.
Now, technically Toyota Launcher.exe should open Techstream and you should do the Techstream set-up – company info, location etc. That’s what the VX Diag tutorial tells you to do. But in his case it did nothing. He saw the Toyota picture/logo on grey and they it closed and nothing else. SO:
He opened Techstream from the original exe icon shortcut on desktop and did the set-up filling the boxes exactly like in the tutorial (enter the same numbers and whatnot – until it asked for the Product Key. CLOSED Techstream. Then went into the Bin folder of Techstream where you’re supposed to copy Toyota Launcher.exe and double clicked it again and now it should open Techstream after a few seconds. Now you can see 2d23h59m in the left corner, no key is required and you can connect to your car. Always use Toyota Launcher.exe to launch the program. Delete the original icon shortcut on your desktop and make a new one based on the launcher exe.

PS: turn on your Win Firewall Defender after you’re done. Toyota Launcher.exe will work after that. If Defender still bothers you, then add the .exe as an exception, go to defender and search the warning and tell the program to leave that .exe alone.

VXDIAG VCX NANO Toyota Techstream cable or Mini VCI cable to Read 2007 Lexus LWB Live Data?

For those that still want to try using Techstream, I bought my VXDIAG VCX NANO Toyota cable from vxdiagshop.com in December 2022. I use a windows 7 laptop dedicated to just Techstream (version 12.10.019). I don’t worry about viruses and do not connect it to the internet.
I didn’t use the software with this VCX Nano since I already had version 12 installed with the previous cable. That alibaba vendor provide me version 17 on a small cd but I couldn’t get that version to connect with the car. The $25 cable did work with the Version 12 that I found through a google search at the time.
The $25 cable allow me to configure the settings in the car but couldn’t give me real time engine data.
I picked version 12 because my research indicated that version seem to be most stable with the year of my car (2007).
I’m able to read engine data real time (2007 LWB) and perform engine actions too, Previous had purchased a cheap $25 mini vci cable form alibaba but could never get engine data to work.
In short- ‘MiniVCI’ is a clone of very old Xhorse MVCI (google it). Some of those will even show live data, but super slow, plus you can’t e.g. do TPMS writing.
VCX NANO (USB, wifi, etc) -This worked good for me. If you got one working – please try TPMS (Writing sensor IDs.)!
Problem:
My vxdiag vcx nano Toyota cannot communicate via WiFi, then tried to connect via USB, USB constantly disconnected, i also failed to update vci firmware, change other laptop and wifi, same result. Any solution?
Solution:
Disconnect vxdiag vcx nano with laptop for more than 3 minutes.
Connect vcx nano via USB again.
Update vci firmware.

Here are all the customization options available with VXDIAG VCX NANO Toyota Techstream 16.00.017 on a Toyota GR Yaris. All models will have the same options but with empty menus for unavailable items like the Slide Roof, Seat etc.
Techstream version example: 16.00.017 (better version, some reported cannot see customization menu on V17 and onwards version)
You are able to make lane-change indicators flash 4 times instead of 3, enable the auto windows up & down from key fob and lock turn, and disable ESE, disable door warning, disable tail remind buzzer, remove seat belt warning and more.
can’t see anywhere to enable auto door locking when starting or driving off because Auto door locking isn’t on the GR Yaris.
The utility function can also act a bit like a ‘customization’. Like turning on the mileage to oil change on start up and AWD mode etc.
