VXDIAG JLR SDD V167 Update Not Performed Error Solution

Problem:

Tried to diagnose a 2013 Jaguar X350 with VXDIAG VCX SE JLR and SDD V167 software. VCX SE connected with the vehicle but SDD said software updates have not been performed recently. But it is the latest version. Any idea?

Solution:

JLR servers being hacked and down since September 2nd, 2025.

SDD has stopped talking for the corporate server.

Still not right just now. TOPIX still works but has limited functionality.

You are not able to connect SDD to server or run update.

If this version does not work, download and install SDD V166. The previous version works fine.

How to Install JLR SDD V168 Software?

 

 

1. Run VCredist all-in-one FIRST before anything.
2. Install base program JLR v168
3. Run OFFLINE1.exe
4. Run JLR SDD, then log in using username and password below.
5. Exit SDD.
6. Run OFFLINE2.exe
7. Restart PC – run SDD and use as normal. – you may have to go to Settings > Network > and enable network connection to get online downloads working.

Network icon may be red, but downloads should still be working. NOTE: Working now with Edge no issues.

 

 

VXDIAG JLR SDD V166 Software “Out of Date” Solution

Problem:

Installed JLR SDD V166 software for VXDIAG VCX SE JLR. But failed to start software. Failed to download data and displayed error “The software status file is out of date”. Any solution?

Solution:

1).Change computer date/time.

User feedback:

So the solution that worked is to set the date and to 2020 after that there was no pop up for “The software status file is out of date”. Modules software files download as usual worked on 2 cars today so far it is working with setting the data and time to few years back.

 

Open SDD to “continue” then change the year to 2020 and continue using normally.

 

2). If not working, download and use the latest version SDD.

Current version goes to V167 (till June 2025).

Run SDD and use as normal. – you may have to go to Settings > Network > and enable network connection to get online downloads working.Network icon may be red, but downloads should still be working.

How to Install SDD V166 step by step?

Operating system: Windows 10 64bit

Run SDD_166 setup.exe

Select setup language.
Accept license agreement.
Install Adobe Reader.
Install HV Safety Installer Setup Wizard.
Install MOXA UPort Windows Driver.
Finish installing SDD 166 setup.

Install VX Manager driver.

Install JLR SDD driver.

Connect VCX NANO or VCX SE interface with laptop.

Check device is well connected and keep firmware and license up-to-date.

Extract SDD patch folder on desktop.

Run JLR SDD Offline patch.

Run JLR SDD software on desktop.

then log in using the username and password below.

user name: y-cai1, password: apri12012

Fill in dealer information and continue.

Exit SDD.

Run JLR SDD Offline.Fix.2020.7.14 patch

Then run JLR SDD software again.

NOTE: Do not let the program launch into Edge. Only Internet Explorer. If you have issues fixing this, search google for “Disable IEtoEdgeBHO”. You will find the solution which involves registry editing.

Q: SDD can it work offline programming with downloaded calibration files?

A: Use last version v166 all will be ok.
