Problem:

Failed to install Passthru driver for VxDiag VCX SE on Windows 10 system. Error File check failed.  How to fix it?

Solution:

Exit vx manager.

Run vx manager and install passthru driver again. It should be fine.

2. VXDIAG VCX SE Benz (Spoofed as Original VCI)

Price: Approximately $229.

Vehicle Coverage: Reads vehicles from 2004 up to 2025, including the latest models. For cars above 2021, a separate coding certificate is required (approx. $150/hour, but currently difficult to purchase).

Key Features: This device has DoIP (Ethernet) capability, allowing it to connect to new platforms like the 206, 223, EQ, and EQS. It features Wi-Fi for cable-free operation.

Pros:

Very convenient and compact.

Compatible with both Xentry Openshell and Passthru version.

Can perform firmware updates.

Multi-brand (works with BMW, GM, etc.).

Cons: 

Not compatible with very old Kline models.

Works only a few truck models.

 

 

3. MB SD Connect C4 (Clone)

Price: Approximately $400-$500.

Vehicle Coverage: Comes in two versions: a basic one (similar to Openport, covering up to ~2021) and a DoIP version for the latest models. A key advantage is its ability to diagnose older cars (e.g., from 2001) and Mercedes trucks, which the VCX cannot do.

Key Features: The original C4 is not sold new to the public; only used units from closed official service centers or copies are available.

Pros: Powerful, works with a wide range of vehicles including classics and trucks.

Cons:

Very heavy, bulky, and inconvenient.

The cable is large.

The clones typically do not have functional Wi-Fi, requiring a cable connection.

Note on “Blacklists”: blacklists are only a concern for online operations. For offline diagnostics (which is how most independent shops and enthusiasts operate), whether a scanner is blacklisted is irrelevant

VXDIAG VCX SE Review on Mercedes Actros

Here comes an honest review on VXDIAG VCX SE Benz scanner from one of vxdiagshop.com’s customers.

“I recently received a package I’d been waiting for: the VXDIAG VCX SE diagnostic tool, specifically aimed at Mercedes Actros trucks. Let’s dive into the unboxing and my initial experience getting it up and running.

The unit itself is a solid device. But my journey started with a small hiccup. Interestingly, I initially had a significant issue with the device drawing too much power.

To work around this, I found a simple fix: the device operates perfectly well on a 12V power source. So, I decided to use this handy little gadget (the power adapter) to get it going. A major plus of this tool is that it also supports DOIP (Diagnostics over Internet Protocol), which is essential for working with newer vehicles. From what I’ve seen, it seems to be very capable for modern trucks.

The package includes a quality cable, and the main unit feels well-built. The first step was to get it communicating with the software I already had installed on my computer. The setup process was surprisingly quick and smooth. It connected via Wi-Fi without any issues, and I soon saw the icon in the corner of my screen indicating it was ready to go.

I’ve already tested it with both the XENTRY Truck and XENTRY Cars software. It works in what’s known as the “OpenShell” mode. While I don’t have the full, official program to test every function, the OpenShell mode is working flawlessly for me.

I successfully connected to a Mercedes Actros, and this was actually my second time running the software. I’m happy to report that everything works stably and excellently, even on a 24V system, which is standard for many heavy-duty trucks.

Initial Verdict:

So far, the VXDIAG VCX SE is proving to be a stable and effective diagnostic solution for the Mercedes Actros 2009-. After a minor initial power issue that was easily resolved, the device connected quickly and has been performing reliably with the necessary software. It’s a promising tool for anyone needing professional-level diagnostics for these trucks.”

 

Clear GM Fault Code P0AFA with VXDIAG or Xtool D7S?

It’s a 2014 GM Volt with fault code P0AFA. Car turns on but will not move, after a failed charge and ‘unable to charge’ message. How to solve this problem and clear fault code? Use the VXDIAG method with a laptop or Xtool D7S to clear the fault code. Many users say the xtool D7S can clear this code.

Here is the clue:

Xtool D7S or D8/D9 indead will clear the P0AFA code. Autel MaxiSys scanners also capable.

Meth path:

HPCM2 module > Special Functions> Reset Functions>Hybrid/EV Battery Contactor Open Reasons Reset> Reset.

The tool will walk you through the process; there is a point where you need to shut off the ignition, open and close the drivers door and then wait a few minutes for the modules to go to sleep.

One of our customers used the Xtool d7s to clear the codes, and the car totally shut down, had to buy and install a new 12 volt battery. Do not recommend ‘Clear all DTC’s’.

 

Gettng VXDiag vcx nano gm adapter with 2 CAN buses support and need software (GDS2) is not that hard as you think. And it’s way cheaper, than buying a dedicated scanner, i.e Xtool D7S.
