First Review on VXDIAG VCX SE for BMW

Setup:

Install VX Manager from software CD

vcx se is different from other vcx nano scanners, need to turn on the DoIP switch to make it connected

If you need Cloud Diagnosis, you’ll also need to install a BMW USB Drivers which can be downloaded free from vxdiag website.

VX Manager prompts me new VCI & DoIP update

Run an firmware update

Don’t forget to press the Fn reset button after firmware update.

vcx se bmw allows to connect via USB or WiFi. I prefer WiFi connection.

Insert the vxdiag vcx se interface to OBD port

Pair WiFi

Make sure you have turn on the DoIP switch

Run a self test

Check software license. BMW & Passthru are enabled.

I use ISTA software of my own. Software in HDD format is available at vxdiagshop.com as well.

Run ISTA+ to perform diagnosis and programming

CIC coding with E-sys software

To enable Ncs expert/WinKFP coding, make sure you turn on the Easy Connect

How to Install Volvo Driver for VXDIAG VCX NANO?

Question:

When is the Volvo driver going to be available?
I have a license for it but the driver has been removed from vxdiag’s website.

Solution:

The Volvo driver is under VX Manager driver.

Download VX Manager from vxdiag website.

Then go to Automotive and select VOLVO VIDA to install Volvo driver (check image below).

What is VXDIAG E-sys Plus NCD Tool Activation Code?

Problem:

Hi, I have got the VXDIAG VCX SE for BMW scanner. I tried to run these programs, they ask for activation code? Where can i find the activation code?

Necessary to Buy A Laptop with VXDIAG VCX NANO?

Question:

I am specifically looking for a scanner that will do gauge sweeps on the instrument cluster. Other than the Tech II, what other bi-directional scanners work well with our GMs?

I have seen a Youtube video of an Autel MS906BT doing exactly what I want, but $1000 is kinda steep.

I am looking for something in the $500 +/- range.

Grateful for any recommendations.

GM user feedback:

I have a vxdiag vcx nano for gm and can confirm it works great. Software was a pain to setup, found out what I was given required 32bit windows for some reason. It will do anything a tech 2 can do. ABS bleeding, BCM and ECU programming.

Many people feel pain to setup GDS2/tech2win software. So it is necessary to get a vcx nano with a laptop and software pre-installed?

look on vxdiag shop for the vxdiag nano if you buy that and have a tablet it works as a tech2win (software based tech2), the vxdiagshop also sells some interesting stuff and you can buy a older t440 lenovo or x220 laptop on ebay for $200 or less and then buy the $200 hard drive from vxdiag and have all kinds of automotive software it’s plug-n-play, they sell it with a laptop, better deal to get the laptop and then the hard drive and I guess the vxdiag. I have the vxdiag and a tablet works fine for tech2win. I got gds2 to run I just have to fix a bug in it still, If I get the laptop and hard drive it wont have the bug’s I have ran into with gds2 on the tablet.
interesting stuff and cheaper than spending $1000+ on a bosch.

Can VXDIAG Ford IDS do F150 F250 F350?

Problem:

I hooked up the vxdiag vcx nano for Ford interface on on F-Series (I tested it on a 2006 F250 and 2008 F350 – program locked up on both) , it has “network errors”.

So vxdiag ids won’t do Ford F series?

Solution:

VXDIAG Ford IDS supports PWM, Kline and CAN protocols.

The device works on most Fords that utilize CAN 11 bit protocols and K-line protocol.

It will do F-150 after year 2010. It won’t do F150 pre-2010 (will display test man error)

As for F-250, F-350 that utilize UBP, vxdiag Ford won’t do these J1850 PWM trucks.

Techstream V12 Flash Calibration Update Failure Solution

Installing Techstream v12.10.019 to perform ecu reprogramming by running with VXDIAG vcx Nano cable, it fails to work, get message” error at Starting Flash Calibration Update”.

It says: Cannot change to reprogramming mode. Please confirm the Ignition was turn OFF for 10 seconds and then turned back to the ON position.
