Set up VXDIAG and Service Box for Opel HPCM2 Programming

Here is another review on Opel/Vauxhall HPCM2 module programming to get rid of the SHVCS errors.

Problem:

It’s a Opel Ampera 2012 1.4L.  Got P0AA6, P1F0E (insulation) P1FFF (both for level and insulation) fault codes.

Using GDS2 if you have the loss of isolation this is what you should see in GDS2 using the vxdiag vcx nano gm scanner, note you will be able to clear all of these except for P1FFF as on a 2012 this is latched unless you have a failed coolant sensor.

Solution:

Reflashing HPCM2 will remove the P1FFF  error but in order to lower the chances of it re-appearing you need to reflash BECM as well.

The user was able to reprogram the HPCM2 in about 20 mins using VXDIAG GM J2534 and PSA Service Box.

Once logged in select the box below to purchase the SPS software access for two hours.

Once you have the active subscription you can select it Opel / Vauxhall Legacy , it has a habit of sending you back to the login page after payment but your purchase is still listed
and can be listed below.

As soon as you press the Blue SPS button the countdown timer will start.

Selecting the SPS launches the Tech2Win.

Launch the Tis2Web which will launch Java and start the downloads and software installer this will take around 10 mins or so on a fast internet connection , you will need to approve
multiple installs , it may error and say no admin permissions however complete the install.

Service box install and launch.

Once the install is complete this is the last step.

Select VXDIAG.

Connect the Car and tun on accessory mode (press the start button for 10 seconds without pressing the brake).

note at this time the car will go a bit funky and trigger theft deterrent system and a powerdown noise select the K114B HPC Module 2

Do not touch the car or laptop until the process above completes , it will give the option of clearing DTC’s at the end.

Fix Opel Ampera 2012 P1FFF Error Using VXDIAG & Service Box

Having a latched HPCM2 P1FFF fault code with Opel Ampera 2012. This common issue is often related to battery aging but can sometimes be resolved through module reprogramming.

 

Understanding the P1FFF Error

The P1FFF code in the Opel Ampera typically indicates:

• Hybrid battery degradation (most common cause).
• Voltage imbalance between battery cells.
• Software needing an update (K114B & K16 modules).

Since my car had no physical battery issues, I suspected a software/firmware problem and decided to reprogram the modules.

 

Device used:

Bought a VXDIAG VCX NANO GM scanner.

I bought a cheap refurbished Windows 10 laptop for it.

You want VXDIAG GM 2024.05.08.
You need to turn off anti-virus and windows defender before you expand the zip files, otherwise one of the files gets deleted.
You can install it before buying the VCX Nano, though you do need it a one point to complete the setup – read the instructions earlier in their blogs.

I paid and installed Techline Connect and tried to do the programming there, but no luck. Maybe it was possible before Opel was sold to Stellantis.

 

UPDATED:

I created Stellantis account lately to access Servicebox.
Update on my P1FFF situation.
In bit under week Stellantis verified my account. I used my own company’s details to sign up. The company does not have anything to do with cars. So I don’t know how they are checking validity of the provided information.
Vat number needs to be in correct format. (even tho it is not correct VAT number).
I updated the K114B and K16 modules, and now everything works as expected.
K16 module programming takes almost 10 minutes when the programming is at 100%, so be patient don’t unplug your VXDIAG J2345 before it is done as I did at the fist time.

They charged me 64€ for two hour permission to use SPS. The site itself stated that SPS costs 54€ for 2 hours.

VXDIAG 2TB Ford IDS Software Freezes Solution

Problem:

Bought the vxdiag vcx se with 2tb full software SSD. Ford IDS v130 software freezes when attempting to program the fuel injectors. Images attached.

 

 

Solution:

Don’t start software from IDS desktop icon.

Run IDS from patch!!!

 

 

VXDIAG VCX FD Firmware and License Update Failed Solution

Problem:
The device is a VXDIAG VCX FD with a GM software license. However, the license does not appear in VX Manager (even though the correct beta version vx manager for VCX FD is installed). Attempting to install the Passthru driver fails with the error:
“The device license for this application is invalid or expired.”
Additionally, firmware updates are blocked, stating the license is invalid.

Solution:

1. Verify Software Compatibility:
   • Ensure you are using the correct beta version of VX Manager specifically designed for VCX FD, not the regular VX Manager.
2. Check Firmware & License Status:
   • If the device shows firmware version 2.0.4.1 but fails to update to 2.3.1.1 while displaying “license invalid”, this may indicate a hardware issue.
   • In such cases, contact your dealer and request a repair or replacement for the device.

VXDIAG Renault CLIP V219 Vehicle Selection is Gray Solution

Problem:

After installing the VXDIAG VCX SE Renault CLIP V219 software, the vehicle model selection options are grayed out and cannot be selected.
What is the solution to this problem?

Solution:

Ensure that the Renault VCI driver is properly installed.

Install the RENAULT VCI Driver and VX Manager, and make sure the Renault driver is installed within VXManager.

If the issue persists, it may be due to the computer’s operating system. Avoid installing the software on a Home Edition system.

Try reinstalling the software on a different computer system.

Does VXDIAG VCX FD Work with MG Saic VDS2 Software?

Question:

Has anyone been able to get MG or Saic Roewe VDS2 Diagnostic Software working with a VXDIAG VCX FD/VCX SE VCI with either Ford or GM license?

 

Answer:

No, Saic Roewe and MG use VDS2 (VEHICLE DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM) software.

Interface support: VDI I, VDI II, VCM2 original, MDI 1, MDI2 original.

VXDIAG VCX FD or VCX SE is driven by license. VXDIAG does not have license for MG or SAIC motors.
