VXDIAG Volvo License is Invalid Error Solution

Some users reported they set up VIDA 2014D software for vxdiag vcx se or vcx nano Volvo device.
Using VX Manager when click ‘Update License’ they get a message “The license is invalid, please update or contact the dealer to confirm this is a valid device”.

Here are the possible solutions:

1. Uninstall Volvo driver in vx manager and install it again.

2.  If you still did not resolve that issue just connect your device, open VX manager and click on DIAGNOSTIC and install PASSTHRU (you must enable internet connection), after successfully installation you should see VXdiag in your VIDA!

3. If still not working, delete vx manager, install again, then install Volvo and passthru drivers.

Does VXDIAG VCX SE Work with Subaru FreeSSM?

FreeSSM is a free and easy to use diagnostic and adjustment tool for SUBARU vehicles. It provides access to the engine and transmission control units of the models Legacy/Liberty, Outback, Baja, Impreza, Forester and Tribeca (not before MY1999). 1.2.5 version is the latest. Possible to use the FREESSM software with VXDIAG VCX SE?

The answer is NO. The best cable for FreeSSM is the cheap $10-$20 VAG-COM KKL 409.1 OBD2 USB cable. It is a cheap cable with FTDI chip.

VXDIAG VCX SE does not work with the FreeSSM software. VCX SE only works with SSM3 and SSM4 software.  vag-com is not going to work SSM3/SSM4 software. SSM requires J2534 standard compliant adapter.  vxdiag is j2523 compliant – vxdiag can be used instead of openport cable.  Vxdiag vcx se Subaru works well with ssm3 and ssm4 the vcx se also has a wired cable you can use.

Neither FreeSSM nor Romraider will connect to the modules in a 2021 Subarus. only some earlier models are supported.
So you have better keep both VXDIAG SSM3/SSM4 and FreeSSM.

How to Solve VXDIAG VCX FD Firmware Update Failure?

Problem:

Trying to update VXDIAG VCX CAN FD firmware in vx manager but failed, error Updating VCI firmware failed. Any solution?

Solution:

Make sure you have OBD 12V supply to the VCX FD unit.

Change network and try again.

 

Please use the latest VX Manager for online firmware updates (firmware update procedure is similar to vcx se).
If online updates are not possible, your network cannot access our server to update firmware online,  Please use VCX-FD offline update tool to update firmware.

NOTE: The offline update tool is for VCX FD only. Disable anti-virus program before downloading offline update tool.
